Drayton
During the pandemic we all turned to whatever sport was available while we eagerly awaited for the restrictions to lift
At a time when it looked like I may be able to go back to racing a simple accident left me unable to walk.
A head injury left me without the coordination I had learnt as a child and I must start to learn all of those basic skills again

DAN DRAYTON
Daniel Drayton Race CV
My name is Daniel Drayton and I’ve been racing in the UK
since 2011 and for 2 years I raced in Europe in the Support Series - the European Junior Cup powered by Honda, where I have competed along side The World Superbike and
World Super sport Championships.

I have a deep passion for racing and I’ve been lucky
enough to ride at some of the best tracks in the world and make some verty good friends.
I have learnt to be adaptable holding down a job whilst training and competing in two championships.
With my passion for the sport, I am constantly trying
to improve, both on and off the track, as well as with my media and professional social skills, as I believe that this is also part of becoming a professional racer.

In 2018 I will compete in British Super Sport - in the British Superbike series
I will be training hard and take the preparation seriously. As well as gym work I will use many forms of exercise, pit biking BMX riding and Trials to ensure I am ready for the competition

My race career so far:

2017 – British Superbike Series - Superstock 600

In 2017 competed in Super stock 600 series and in the second half of the season I was finishing regularly in the top 15 risers and in a points position, this gave me the opportunity to enter the Super sport Feature race, I finished in the points in 4 of the 5 races I entered. A great accomplishment on a Super Stock bike
I also rode in the ACU No Limits Endurance series - winning all of the three races I took part in and playing a pivotal part in the Team achieving the National 600 Endurance Championship Title in 2017
I also instructed at The Ron Haslam Race School for the 2017 Season

2016 – European Junior Cup
2016 was excellent exposure and a superb experience for me as a young rider in a support series of the World Championship.
I have been interviewed on the start grid, featured in the paddock show; and each race has been covered on TV and online. I aimed to improve on my 2015 standings where my highest placed finish had been 15th position. I set a goal of a top ten finish overall and narrowly missed this by 6 points finishing 13th overall in the championship, with my highest placed finish a 6th position at Misano; the most memorable finish was being the highest placed Brit at Donington Park with a 7th place finish

2015 – European Junior Cup
After sampling the EJC in two isolated races the year before, I wanted another taste of life in the World Superbike paddock. Thanks again to The Bike Insurer, I got the opportunity to compete across the whole season at tracks like Aragon, Misano and Assen.
It was been a big step riding the Honda CBR 650F for the first time against the best young riders, however I have consistently improved throughout the season.
At the beginning of the 2015 I attended a race training camp in Spain with coaching from former BSB and World Superbike champion Gregoria Lavilla, Current world Super sport Rider Kyle Smith and Road Racer Maria Costello MBE, the course was a Honda initiative to help young riders adapt to high power machines and assist in the progression of competing on a world Stage
2015 KTM 390 CUP
As well as competing in the European Junior cup I raced on the British circuits and improved my skills. This improvement has also been helped by racing in the British Superbike affiliated KTM 390 Cup. In only four race weekends I have finished in the top ten taking ninth place in the championship with two podiums.

KTM UK also supplied me with a pre launch Freeride E Supermoto to showcase at the Cholmondely Pageant of Power which was the first ever electric motorcycle at the show I take the opportunity to Promote the Benjamin Gautrey Foundation as they were pivotal in my first steps as a road racer, I undertake the Charity events and try to support up and coming riders in the sport

2014 – Aprilia Superteen Series & European Junior Cup
I followed my 13th place finish with a fourth place finish overall, something I had aimed for when the season began. As well as racing in the Superteen Series, I also got the opportunity to race in the European Junior Cup (EJC) courtesy of The Bike Insurer. This came in the form of two wildcard entries to the World Superbike associated series at Donington Park and Jerez, racing against the best young riders in the world.

2013 – Aprilia Superteen Series
The following year I moved to road racing and the ThundersportGB Aprilia Superteen series on the Aprilia RS125. It was a new discipline for me but despite a lack of experience I finished 13th in the overall standings and fourth in the Nitro Newcomers, enough for me to be named Best Novice 2013

2012 – ACU British Supermoto
I enrolled in the Benjamin Gautrey Race Academy, receiving tuition and support to help me succeed in racing. The skills I picked up helped me finish consistently at the front of the field throughout the season, enough to secure the British Junior Supermoto Championship..

2011 – ACU British Supermoto
My life on the track started out at the age of 12 when I finished third in the British Junior Championship. It was here that I
realised I had the talent to match my passion but I knew there was plenty still to learn.
